Cactuses need regular watering during summer in order to grow and remain healthy, but if you overwater, or wet the plant too often, your cactus could rot at the base. Use the method employed by expert cactus growers and water from the bottom.
Should I Bottom water my cactus?
Cacti plants need complete soaking to absorb as much water as possible. The difference should be in how frequently you water your plant, not how thoroughly you do it. Bottom watering ensures the entire root system is getting sufficient water.Do you water cacti from the top or bottom?
Re: Watering from the bottomI just water from above until water comes out the bottom of the pot whenever my plants are thirsty. If your plants aren't thirsty, you're either going to split them or rot them. Happy growing! There is always one more glochid.
